VENUE
The venue of the European Amateur Championship 2008 is Esbjerg Golfklub, situated on the west coast of Jutland, Denmark. The club was founded in 1921 as the third golf club in Denmark. The course is of a very high standard and has been the venue of several European and National Championships. The geographical location – almost as westerly in Denmark as you can get and very close to the North Sea – makes the play challenging, as a heavy westerly wind often blows over the course (see appended maps).
The course from the men´s back tee is 6347 meters, par 71. Course rating is 74,1 and slope is 125.

CATERING
The players must settle their account with the restaurant before leaving the championship. Please note that an administration fee of € 25 will be added to the account in case we have to send a reminder afterwards.
Eurocard, Visa card or cash (DKK or Euros) will be accepted. Please note that a service charge of 5% will be added to your bill, in the case that you pay with credit cards. One euro is equivalent to approx. 7,50 DKK.

DRUG ABUSE
In order to avoid any misunderstanding in connection with required medication, please check the list of drugs issued by your national sports council.
FRUIT AND WATER
Complimentary fruit and water will be available on the 1st and 10th tee. Drinking water is available from taps several places on the course. Water from the taps in the club house toilets is drinkable as well.
GOLF BAGS
Lockers for golf bags will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact the Club Office upon arrival.
LOCKERS
Lockers for personal belongings will be available to all players.
MEDICAL CARE
A doctor will be on call during the Championship.
PRACTICE
The official practice days are Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 August. Starting lists will be available upon arrival.
PRACTICE FACILITIES
A large putting green is situated in front of the club house, close to the 18th green. Behind the parking lot you will find the driving range, and the chip and pitch area is situated two minutes walk from the driving range, on your left hand side when you leave the club.
PRESS OFFICE
An office with a fax and a copier machine will be available for members of the press. Please return the form regarding press requirements to the Danish Golf Union.

PRO SHOP
The pro shop is situated in the lobby area in the club house and is well stocked with equipment and clothes.
RANGE BALLS AND TROLLEYS
The cost is €22 per player - to be paid in the pro shop. Reservation of trolleys is not necessary. Electric trolleys are not allowed.
REGISTRATION
Registration will take place at the counter in the lobby area.
SPIKES
There is no requirement of soft spikes on the course. Any kind of spikes in the restaurant is strictly forbidden.
TRANSPORTATION
The nearest airport is Billund Airport. Bus transportation from Billund will be arranged at two or three fixed times according to arrivals. If the waiting time in the airport is considered to be too long, taxis are available, and the cost is appr. 900 DKK, equivalent to €90. Shuttle bus service will be provided between the hotels and the golf course.
