One satisfied Paul Cutler after the first final round
Three days of improvement, final scores at 71, 70 and 68, an eagle yesterday and a hole in one today sent 19 years old Paul Cutler from Portsteward in Ireland straight to the top on the third day of the tournament in Esbjerg.
Afterwards it all sounded very easy, when Paul Cutler described his way up there.
- I was comfortable today, my iron shots were good, and my putting was good. I feel good about tomorrow, I just have to keep doing what I did today and maybe we’ll have a double Irish victory, he said referring to another Irish player, Niall Kearney, in the fourth position of the leaderboard.
Using his six-iron he made the third hole in one in his career as amateur, which may be replaced with life as a pro in a year or two.
Dutchman Jurrian van der Vaart, who was in the lead before the round today, had a bad day on the course and ended in +6. He is now fifth in the competition. Closest pursuers are German player Stephan Gross and Luke Goddard, England.
Niall Kearney - still holding the best tournament score and fourth in the competition
